The Spring City Public Library, located at 245 Broad Street, has served the communities of Spring City and East Vincent Township since 1910. The Library welcomed East Coventry into its’ service area formally in June 2019. For most of its history, the library was housed in a small, 1600SF building that once served as a one-room schoolhouse.

Bertha Brower

Bertha Brower, longtime resident of Spring City and director of the Spring City Library for many years, bequeathed $500,000 to the library upon her death in 2001 with the dream that the money would be used to build a new library that would meet the needs of community members in the 21st century. Combined money from Bertha Brower, an ongoing fundraising effort, and a grant from the State, the new Library building became a reality.

This new library is a true Community Center for the Spring City area. It is a comfortable, inviting, modern environment for our residents, from the youngest to the oldest, where quality service is provided for all. The Library is a staple in the community with over 750 visitors weekly and a healthy circulation of materials. It is the only place in Spring City, East Vincent, or East Coventry where family, information, technology, knowledge, learning, literacy and community converge.
